    Details of Disappearance

    Abakar was last seen in Leesburg, Virginia on July 27, 2007. He was a police officer from Chad and was in the United States with other Chadian police officers; they arrived in the country on July 8 and attended a class at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Academy in Quantico, Virginia. They were all staying at the Holiday Inn on Route 28 in Sterling, Virginia.

    Abakar disappeared on July 27, the same day he and the other officers graduated from the FBI Academy. They were all supposed to fly from the Dulles International Airport back to Chad at 6:00 a.m. on July 29, but he never made his flight. He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case.
