    Details of Disappearance

Catherine is from Chicago, Illinois. She disappeared on September 1, 1973, after she and her family traveled to Warren Dunes State Park in Sawyer, Michigan for a picnic. While their parents unpacked the car, Catherine and her five older siblings went to explore Paintervillle Creek, which empties into Lake Michigan. All the other children returned, but Catherine wasn't with them and she has never been heard from again. An extensive search of the area turned up nothing but a pair of green underpants, and it wasn't established whether they were Catherine's or not. Her case remains unsolved.
