    Details of Disappearance

Grijalva was last seen in Silver City, New Mexico on August 3, 2014. A neighbor who reported her missing at 7:00 p.m. said in the afternoon hours Grijalva went into the Mimbres River off Highway 152 for a routine swim, leaving her keys and shoes on the riverbank, and no one saw her come out of the water; she disappeared and has never been seen again. An extensive search turned up no sign of her.

Authorities believe Grijalva probably drowned, but some of her family members consider her disappearance suspicious, as they don't believe she would have gone swimming when the river was in its flooding stage and without her shoes. She left behind two adult children. Her body has never been found.
