Details of Disappearance
Omar and his sister Nadia disappeared from Las Cruces, New Mexico on August 3, 2007. They were abducted by her non-custodial father, Qutaiba Yahia Mahmoud. A photograph and vital statistics for Qutaiba are posted below this case summary. A felony warrant for custodial interference was issued for him on September 7, 2007. He is believed to have taken his children to the United Arab Emirates on forged passports. Nadia and Omar's whereabouts are unknown and their cases remain unsolved.Some agencies say Omar and Nadia disappeared from El Paso, Texas. Texas police are assisting with the investigation.
