    Details of Disappearance

Adam disappeared from Evansville, Indiana on June 6, 2008. He was abducted by his non-custodial father, Yasser Shahin, and taken to Ismailia, Egypt. A photograph of Yasser is posted below this case summary. He and Adam's mother, Charity, had divorce in 2006, but married again later that year. In November 2007, Yasser filed for divorce again. During the divorce proceedings he had weekend visitation periods with Adam. It was during one of those visits that he took the child to Egypt without permission, while Charity was hospitalized. He left Adam's older sister, Ashley, behind.

According to Charity, Yasser was very insistent that Adam grow up in the Muslim faith. Charity has emailed Yasser asking for contact with their son, but he has refused to allow her into Adam's life. She has full custody of him in the United States, but cannot force Egypt to accept the American custody order. Adam's case remains unsolved.
