Details of Disappearance
Johnson was last seen on November 22, 1990 at her residence at Kimberly Park Apartments in the 5900 block of Stumph Road in Parma, Ohio. She was reported missing on December 3, after she missed work and her employer called her daughter, who went to the apartment to check on her.
Johnson's daughter describes her mother as "meticulous" and said she sensed something was wrong when she went into the apartment and saw that her mother wasn't there but the lights were still on. Her apartment itself was tidy with no indications of foul play, and her eyeglasses were lying on the counter. Her purse, all her coats and all her shoes were also in the apartment.
Her daughter went to the community laundry room on the same floor and found some of Johnson's clothes in the washer and dryer and her laundry locker door open. The clothes were wrinkled and appeared to have been left in the machines for some time. Johnson's vehicle was in the parking lot; only her car and house keys were missing. She left all her money, credit cards and identification behind, and her apartment rent was paid through the month of December.
Johnson's ex-boyfriend was the last person known to have seen her. He was questioned about her case but later stopped cooperating with the investigation. He hasn't been named as a suspect, however. By the time of her disappearance, Johnson had a new boyfriend, but told her daughter she didn't want her daughter to meet this person because she thought her daughter wouldn't like him. The man Johnson was dating at the time of her disappearance is now deceased.
Her disappearance remains unsolved.
