Yenzer was last seen on July 21, 2003 when he went to visit the Five Ridge Prairie Conservation Area in Loess Hills, Iowa. He enjoyed hiking in that area. In December 2004, his skeletal remains were found in that region by a hunter. Foul play is not suspected in his death.
