Details of Disappearance Harris was attending art school in Dallas, Texas at the time of his disappearance. He visited his mother's house in Houma, Louisiana on October 10, 1998, his thirtieth birthday.
He was last seen on his way to the Houma Greyhound bus station afterwards. He had indicated he was traveling back to Dallas. He has never been heard from again.
In 2002, a jailhouse informant told police Harris had been murdered and his body was buried in an empty one-acre lot in a remote wooded area off Hollywood Road near Ninth Street in Houma.
A month-long search of the lot turned up nothing, but investigators believe the informant's story and theorize the body was moved or disturbed before they searched the property. The lot had been leveled and covered with three feet of fill dirt after 1998.
Harris dropped out of Terrebonne High School. He was engaged once but never married, and he has no children. He enjoys drawing and making up commercial jingles which he wanted to sell to companies. He made had a portfolio of himself for a possible modeling career.
Many of his friends were involved in criminal activities, and Harris himself was involved in drugs and was on parole at the time of his disappearance. His case remains unsolved.
