Details of Disappearance
Ehlers disappeared during a hiking trip in Alta, Utah on May 21, 2012. In July 2015, other hikers found his boot with a bone inside it in Little Cottonwood Canyon, and a search turned up more human remains in the area. His remains were identified in late June 2016. Investigators believe Ehlers fell off a cliff.
