Details of Disappearance

Bresch was last seen in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky on March 9, 1977

She withdrew about $20,000 from her bank account, money which came from the recent sale of her former home, and was carrying the cash at the time of her disappearance. She left all her clothes and belongings behind at her apartment in the 500 block of Quincy Court and has never been heard from again. Her two adult children reported her missing.

On March 11, Bresch's 1972 Oldsmobile was found in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Fort Mitchell. There were bloodstains, matching Bresch's blood type, in the vehicle, but the car itself was not visibly damaged and none of the windows were cracked or broken. Employees at the hotel don't recall having seen her there and no one checked in under her name.

After her disappearance, the police found jewelry and watches in Bresch's safe deposit box which they believe had been stolen. The suspected stolen items included a diamond-studded Gruen wristwatch with "A3098, 59163, T41368, cased and timed in the USA by Gruen Watch Co., 14 K WBO gold, 275759, X75399" written on the inside of the case, a Bulova wristwatch, a necklace with a pendant, two earrings containing five small diamonds each, and a diamond ring with a setting of two large diamonds set among smaller ones.

Bresch's husband died two years prior to her disappearance. One acquaintance described her as timid and "frightened of everyone". She did, however, have a male acquaintance in Covington, Kentucky whom she'd been visiting at home about once a week for about five years before she went missing. The man had reportedly sold her some jewelry. He was questioned about her disappearance and had to testify before a grand jury, but was never charged.

It's uncharacteristic of Bresch to leave without warning and foul play is suspected in her case, which remains unsolved.
