Details of Disappearance
Manizak was last seen on July 30, 1999. His last known legal address was on Raven Road in Doyle, California. At the time of his disappearance, he was on disability for his diabetes and was traveling around the country in his van. He had camping equipment and would camp each night off the highway. He often picked up hitchhikers in his travels.
Manizak called his mother at least twice a week to assure her he was safe. The last time anyone heard from him was when he called his mother from a truck stop east of Twin Falls, Idaho. He said he was en route to Newport, Oregon. He has never been heard from again.
He may be driving his brown/copper 1970 Ford van with California license plates numbered 87647D. He hasn't claimed his disability checks or used his medical card to get diabetic supplies since his disappearance. He may be in Idaho, Oregon or Montana.
Prior to his disappearance, Manizak was convicted of oral copulation with a child under fourteen. He is required to register as a sexual offender. His case remains unsolved.
