Dubois disappeared from Schertz, Texas on March 7, 2021. He was last seen in the company of a friend, Ethan Carl Beckman. On March 19, Beckman was arrested and charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in Dubois's case.
In 2022, eighteen months after Dubois disappeared, his remains were identified in Comal County. Beckman was charged with his murder, and was convicted of first-degree murder and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in March 2024.
