Details of Disappearance
Barbour was last seen in Bayou la Batre, Alabama on January 6, 1988. He was the first mate aboard a fishing vessel, theĀ Miss Mickie. He was last seen while the vessel was about ten miles south of Horn Island Pass and twelve miles of the Chandeleur Islands, in water about twelve fathoms deep.
The others noticed Barbour was no longer aboard. He is presumed to have fallen off the boat, but this was not witnessed. Searches turned up no sign of him; he is presumed drowned.
