Details of Disappearance

Donald was last seen at his family's ranch five miles southwest of Norris in Madison County, Montana on October 3, 1953. He let home at 9:00 a.m. with a rifle and was presumed to be going out hunting. He never returned and has never been heard from again. An extensive search of the area, involving 100 people and a bloodhound, turned up no indication of his whereabouts.

His family stated they could not think of any reason why he would have wanted to leave home, but speculated he hitchhiked out of the area and perhaps out of state and got work as a farm laborer. Donald's disappearance remains unsolved.
