Details of Disappearance

Wood was last seen in Conrad, Montana on November 22, 2024. She lived on on South Delaware Street. A witness who knew her saw her buying beer at a local convenience store and said she looked "beat up" at the time. She has never been heard from again. She was reported missing on November 30.

When police checked her residence, they found it in a state of disarray, and Wood's vehicle wasn't parked out front like it usually was. Her pets had been left without food or water and there was a red circular pattern on floor that looked like blood.

Wood's vehicle was subsequently found abandoned outside Conrad and towed. When the police subsequently examined it at the impound lot, they noted bloodstains on the interior and exterior of the vehicle, a fired .22 cailber cartridge on the vehicle floor, and handprints on the locking mechanism.

On December 1, Wood's ex-husband told police that her car had been crashed by an unknown person and the driver fled on foot. That same day, Wood's son attempted to find her using a phone finder app, and the app said Wood's phone had been active on North Main Street in Conrad 47 minutes earlier. The police went to the address in question and spoke to a woman who said she found the phone lying next to the mailbox. The woman also said that William Glenn Olson was the person who had wrecked Wood's vehicle.

A photo of Olson is posted with this case summary. Police also spoke to another person in Brady, Montana who said Olson had shown up at his house. Olson reportedly told the man that Wood would not let him leave her residence in Conrad, so after she fell asleep he took her car and drove away in that, but he had crashed it and had run to the man's Brady residence.

Olson was questioned about Wood's disappearance and at first he claimed he had last seen her on November 10 and didn't know where she was. On December 3, he was arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants and questioned about Wood's case again.

This time he admitted he had strangled Wood during an argument at her home. He said he'd put her body in a hard-sided suitcase that he'd found in her closet, and put the suitcase in a dumpster along the 900 block of Sixth Alley Northwest in Great Falls, Montana. By the time the police heard this, the dumpster had already been emptied and its contents taken to the High Plains Landfill.

Olson has been charged with deliberate homicide and tampering with evidence in Wood's disappearance. He is awaiting trial in her case. Her body has not been found, but foul play is suspected due to the circumstances involved.
