Toole disappeared from Pansey, Alabama on May 15, 1995. In September 2023, the remains of his car were found submerged in the Steinhatchee River in Steinhatchee, Florida, with a body inside it. A credit card and Sam's Club card bearing Toole's name were also inside the car.
