Details of Disappearance

Betty was last seen at her family's Silver Creek Falls, Oregon home on June 21, 1941. She woke up early in the morning before her older sisters were awake, put a man's sweatshirt on over her underwear and put on her sister's too-large shoes, and took a bucket outside to get water from the nearby pump. Betty never returned home and has never been heard from again. The bucket and shoes disappeared with her.

Betty's family members were migrant workers in 1941, and were living in on a ranch temporarily and working as berry pickers at the time she disappeared. Her parents thought she might have gotten a ride from a passing motorist. Her case remains unsolved, but it is now longer being investigated by law enforcement due to the passage of time.
