  • Medical Conditions Claeys suffers from corneal hydrops in his left eye. As a result, he has lost peripheral vision in that eye, and the eye has a cloudy appearance.
  • Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Claeys often wears a goatee. He has several tattoos, including his last name "CLAEYES" in script on his neck, the name "DAN" on his left forearm, praying hands on his upper arm/shoulder, and a name on his wrist. Photos of some of the tattoos are posted with this case summary. Claeys's ears and tongue are pierced.

Details of Disappearance

Claeys was last seen in East Moline, Illinois on October 5, 2017. He was driving an older model Ford truck whose owner let him borrow it. He never returned the truck and has never been heard from again, and eventually a stolen vehicle report was filed for the truck. It has not been located either.

Claeys has a history of going without contact with his family, although he usually called his mother on birthdays. His mother reported him missing in 2019. Since his disappearance, Claeys has not used his bank accounts or credit cards. There is one person of interest in his case, but no charges have been filed.

He may have traveled to Florida or Arizona after he went missing. The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear.
