Details of Disappearance

Zambrano was last seen in Hialeah, Florida on May 9, 2002. She disappeared with her daughter, Margarita Tache; they lived together. Neither woman has ever been heard from again.

Sometime after her disappearance, Tache's husband, José Roberto Rodríguez Gómez, told authorities in Colombia he'd murdered Tache and placed her body in a dumpster. He was arrested in Santa Marta, Colombia for both women's murders, but it's unclear if he was actually extradited and prosecuted.

Zambrano's body and Tache's have never been recovered.
