His vehicle was found at the docks in Marina Del Rey, California, and his boat, theĀ Venturess III, was missing. A witness saw Davison on the boat at noon on October 29. On October 30, theĀ Venturess III was found grounded at Dockwieler State Beach. The boat's navigation equipment and autopilot system were turned on, but it was not in gear and the ignition was shut off. The pilot side door was open and the inflatable raft was missing.
Davison was reportedly a patient of the same doctor who treated Robert Black, who disappeared in 1996, and Goldie Swanger and Patricia Laxer, both of whom vanished in 1997.
